The PMI Nashville Local Interest Groups (LIGs) are the local arms of the PMI National Organization’s Special Interest Groups (SIGs).  The SIGs represent the special interest of the national members.  The types of LIGs available in Nashville are limited to both the types of SIGs on the national level and the types of LIGs that are of interest to the Nashville PMI members.  Currently we have three LIG and have plans to provide more.

1. PMO LIG -- The PMO LIG serves those interested in Project/Program Management Organizations/Offices.  Often you may hear PMOs described as either a Project Management Office or Organization or possibly a Program Management Office or Organization.  This group typically meets quarterly.  The meetings cover different topics related to PMOs and diverse presentation formats and styles.  Join this group if you are interested in PM topics such as policies, procedures, organizational structures, systems and processes, and portfolio management. 

2. Healthcare LIG -- The Healthcare LIG serves those interested in the Project Management (PM) techniques applied to the Healthcare industry.  This group meets quarterly to discus and learn more about PM within Healthcare.  The meetings cover diverse topics, presentation formats, and styles.  Join this group if you are interested in Healthcare and networking with other likeminded professionals. 

3. IT/IS LIG -- The IT/IS LIG includes two major parts, (1) the development, implementation, infrastructure, hardware and software side of IT and (2) the Business Intelligence (BI) side of managing and analyzing the data.  Both sides are managed by the same set of volunteers and together meet about every other month.  One month will related to the BI subjects and the next month's meetings will cover all the other subjects.  Joint this group if you desire to learn more about PM in an IT/IS/BI environment.
